Honestly, these aren't even going to be hot takes. These are just my (completely correct) opinions about things that make me mildly infuriated. Some of these will have explanations, and some will not. Let's go.
#1. If not being happy about receiving a gift you didn’t like/didn’t ask for is being ungrateful, then being happy about receiving a gift you like/asked for is also ungrateful.
Around Christmas time, there was this trend on TikTok of people posting videos of their young kids opening gifts and calling them ungrateful for getting upset about receiving clothes or a suitcase. Simultaneously, there were videos of kids opening gifts where they were extremely happy with the gifts they got. In almost all the videos of the “grateful” kids, the kids talk about how their parents got exactly what they wanted. Whereas, in a video of a three year old child receiving a suitcase that was supposed to be a reveal of a Disney trip, the child cried because she couldn’t understand the gift, nor could she read the Disney ticket. To this three year old, instead of getting toys for Christmas, she got a suitcase and clothes, which is not an age appropriate gift. This video was posted to demean the daughter, opening a conversation of people actively insulting a three year old and saying she isn’t deserving of gifts. No one owes you gratitude for a gift they don’t want.

#2. A slur is not reclaimed if it can’t be used outside of an insult.
Some marginalized groups don’t actually know what it means to reclaim a slur. Especially on TikTok, where you see a lot of white queer people using the F-slur in an insulting way to people in their own community. Also, the discourse around who can use the slur is enough to justify not using it at all. The validity of someone's sexual orientation doesn’t revolve around whether or not you’ve been called a slur. Also a lot of times, these words are just uncomfortable for the people who have actually been hurt by the word.
#3. Outside of cultural appropriation, non-Black people in Black hairstyles just look stupid.
It’s just not cute… lol
#4. On that same note, if someone is truly “appreciating” culture, they would understand why people in that community wouldn’t want them to participate in certain things.
If you see cultural appreciation as a trade off, or as something that earns you access to parts of a community, IT IS NOT APPRECIATION.

#5. Beyonce is not overrated, but $2,000 for concert tickets is insane.
This is taking the concert experience and making it into a complete luxury of the rich. Fans should be able to enjoy an artist they adore without having to worry about if they can afford their rent. Beyonce deserves the world, but she’s already rich rich, it’s never that serious.

#6. People on TikTok find any way to say they’re racist without saying it.
For example: “The curl police." One Black girl makes a video saying if your hair doesn’t curl when it’s wet, then it's not curly, and from then on, every wavy haired girl talks about the curl police. We don’t careeeeee. Just say Black women and move on. Also we don’t care that words in other languages sound like the n-word. It was a joke. We’re not dumb. Keep it pushing. -_-
#7. No one cares that you don’t season your food or don’t wash your chicken
I don’t want to taste the flavor of meat; I want to taste Lawry’s and garlic. Yes, that includes steak, and I refuse to eat raw meat. I like my food fully cooked, hold the blood please. Also I don’t know where that chicken has been, and I don’t know where it came from. I will continue to wash my chicken. I don’t care about spreading bacteria. There is something called bleach and water.

#8. Chick-Fil-A is decent…
That's it.
#9. Women hate men because of how men treat women. Men hate women because they’re women.
….yea. Also it’s very weird how guys on TikTok have normalized sexual harassment( ie. “I know it’s bubblegum pink), and making fun of women for feeling endangered by men (i.e. “At least I can walk alone at night.”) Y’all are crazy.
#10. Forget apple juice and orange juice.
Both Cranberry juice and Lemonade top orange juice and apple juice any day. We have advanced in the juice world. Behave accordingly.
