Brianna GarciaBrianna Garcia is a successful comic book artist, who works for major companies like Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, and IDW. She is also known for her personal fanart sketches. Brianna went to school for illustration and animation, and throughout this time, she was encouraged to focus heavily on Disney media, illustrations, and animations. This, coupled with her life-long love for comic books, resulted in her focus on children’s media and children’s book illustrations.

Today, she takes up opportunities from Spanish publishers, draws characters and posts these illustrations to her socials, and is also a writer! López’s most popular books are Strawberry Moon: La Hija de la Luna and Blue Moon: El Espíritu de la Laguna (the same series - only available in Spanish, Catalan, and French), and Gleaming: The Art of Laia López (an art compilation - available in Spanish and English). MELISSA TORRESLike many artist, I’ve enjoyed the arts for as long as I can remember. Always having a pencil in my hand and drawing whatever runs through my head as I sang at the top of my lungs. My art is an extension of me, my form of expression without words, having no restrictions or limits. I can’t seem to tie myself down to a style or medium of any kind, I work with what I’m interested in. Gaining my inspiration from my culture, the people I’m around, what I’m exposed to; teaching myself to draw, paint, play instruments, embroider, digitally draw, etc. Of course school does cause me to put certain things aside, but I make time for it regardless. For my future in this, I hope to start doing my own commission work and start a comic I’ve had in mind for a while since I have all the time in the world at home due to the current state of the world. These will most likely be goals for the my far future, I’m just excited to see what I come up with next!

Elia murilloI’m a senior, and I plan on becoming a veterinarian after high school and college. I am currently in acapella, SNHS, and I play softball. I am a very stubborn and competitive individual. I grew up with tons of male cousins so we were always roughhousing. I like to use the basic sketching pencils, but I also like to use acrylic paint, charcoal, oil pastels, pens, color pencils, and markers. I rarely do digital art, but I do want to get more into digital art.

Jaythan AvilaHi everyone, my name is Jaythan Avila, and I'm really happy to get nominated for a Hispanic Heritage Artist. Art is always a close topic to me. I always enjoy the idea of letting your mind be free and creating things. The dark colors, the freeform shapes, the unique backgrounds, they always seem to evoke my sense of finding the joy in Art that I make. I would like to thank Mr. Mitchell for intriguing my passion, art.
