Dormant
Dust speckled 
Deadly
Dear to me
Doesn’t she see me?
My telescope to her grooves
My microscope to her cells
My nails turn to chainsaws 
Turn her to sawdust in my hands
Does she understand
That I’m the feline caught in her branches
No
I’m the child falling from her summit
No
I’m the lumberjack chopping her to pieces
No
I’m the carpenter using her exactly as needed
Injuries and all
It’s hard work
Endangering work
Punishing work
