So in the end I wonder…
Why is it that we try and try again to chase something that we know isn’t going to change
Regardless of if we feel & know that the outcome will be the same
It’s crazy to think about because wisdoms supposed to come with age
But we can’t help what we desire
What do you do when the one you want sets your heart on fire
& you know it may happen again but that doesn’t stop you
You feel that your love is worth it so you endure what they put you through
But you become blinded & don´t know what to do
They’ve manipulated you into thinking you don't know what's best for you
Deep down you know you need to escape but your heart & mind is torn in two
Thinking about the way things were the first time
Getting back together, giving it another shot, attempting to rewind
Been down this road several times
And it’s all because you can’t seem to let go and leave this person behind
Insanity.
But it’s love so it’s worth it right?
“if it’s real it’ll come back”?
What about if it’s real it never would’ve left?
Nooo but “right person wrong time”
How many times have you asked God for a sign?
You can try & pretend & be naive
But when will you realize it’s time to get up & leave?
You’ve prayed the prayer, you asked him to remove what & whoever was in your life that wasn’t meant to be
You looked in the mirror & said “I only want what you say is best for me”
Yet every time, no matter what’s done to take your “lover” away, truly idk how you claim to want that but no matter what happens you stay
& then even worse you gaslight yourself into thinking it’s meant to be this way
“We accept the love we think we deserve”
But you don’t think it…
& you know you don’t deserve it, but you continue to cling to a hope that in the end it’ll be worth it
But how…how do you just let go of something that you want to be so bad
Why let it go just to put up a facade and pretend you aren’t sad
It gets confusing because you don’t know it yet but some part of you is glad
You may not want it but you need it
You’re the only one who can’t see it
No matter how hard you want it to last, you need to realize that some things are better off left in the past
So yes you may miss it, it's not a crime to look back
But just don’t get stuck there looking forward to something you know you lack
Cause that’s where the cycle will start again
When you're clinging onto a relationship with a person you’re no longer in
Despite how many times you guys Brought things to an end
Somehow you always decide to give it another spin
So then comes the question, when do you know it’s finally time to let go?
The truth is your heart and mind have to work together to do so
You have to realize your worth and stand on your boundaries, acknowledging the hurt
Why do we cling onto the things that no longer seem to work?
All because we don’t want to see something we once cared for left in the dirt
Its okay to start over though, from dirt to a new beginning
Maybe this’ll be the start of something new and in this case you’ll be winning
So it's okay to let your love flow, but never forget that it can be refreshing to let go
Sometimes it's what you need to be free from the cycle
To break past the flaws and repetition of insanity
Realize that somethings aren’t meant to be
Lost in love, yes the phrase is true
But because of love it wasn’t insane to you
And while this may not always be the case
When the journey IS up, it’s on you to face it
Why is it that we try and try again to chase something that we know isn’t going to change
Regardless of if we feel & know that the outcome will be the same
It’s crazy to think about because wisdoms supposed to come with age
