petty games...
bishop-adam Ajilogba, october 2025

Brooks Arts & Literary Magazine?
More like Brooks Arts & Petty Games.

Oh, Brooks Arts crew, so high, so grand,
Rejecting a voice you don’t understand.
You brand yourselves as literary gold,
But your clique runs tight, and your hearts run cold.

Two lovebirds leading, their whispers in sync,
Deciding who's "in" as quick as a blink.
A wallflower sighs, but it’s easy to see
It's not my art, but your silence of decree.

What’s the fear, Brooks, of letting me shine?
Afraid my voice might outlast your line?
Petty games played in shadows so small,
Yet you claim to be artists who stand tall.

So keep your circle, narrow and tight.
But remember, real art thrives in the light.
