I know you can’t give me a 
fairytale life
the big mansions 
big breakfasts 
big beds
and be rich with big heads
but sometimes I dread 
the fact that my life is 
middle class
that I can’t flex and buy the $400
cart that I have on SHEIN or ROMWE
that I have to think about 
your financial state and if the things I 
want and need are a 
burden
or that I have to worry about when 
ASM applications open so I can figure out how long it’ll take me to
buy it for myself 
I wish I could get anything I ever wanted
I wish that all of a sudden the numbers for the winning ticket 
suddenly popped into my head
and we could hit it big
Get out of our apartment 
Move where you’ve always wanted
get the home that we’ll live in forever 
and live like we won’t live forever 
together

but maybe I should stop dreading
stop thinking
stop wishing
because there is no Robin Hood 
to steal from the rich
to save the poor and the bourgeoisie 
because this is real-life
and it’s not your fault that you can’t give me a 
fairytale
