Is it fate or a sleep deprived mind?
You came to me with no warning.
It was a night like any other,
I wasn’t searching,
And yet,
you found me.
You’re like no one I’ve ever seen,
yet I feel I’ve known you all these years,
and I believe there are many more to come.
Are you an enigma?
Someone sent from above?
Someone to comfort?
Or are you a promise?
A promise to fill a void that’s never been closed?
I can’t understand you,
Your name is lost to the cosmos,
But you showed me its every corner.
The warmth coursing through stable arms which spun me around,
The knowing laughs as you took the last bite,
And the unspoken apologies before it was over,
Every moment is etched into my mind.
You left too soon,
Your return is unknown,
And yet,
I believe I’ll meet you again.
Regardless of your name being lost within the cosmos,
I remember your teaching:
This too shall pass.
I don’t know if you were fate,
Someone sent to prove my dreams.
Or if you were brought by a sleep deprived mind,
to only remain in my dreams.
You came to me with no warning.
It was a night like any other,
I wasn’t searching,
And yet,
you found me.
You’re like no one I’ve ever seen,
