Aissa Bocoum, November 2025

I refuse to cry
It won’t solve any of my problems
It just makes me pathetic and weak

Why start crying?
Having your tears sting your eyes
Having snot run down your face
Lost in endless thoughts and fresh pain

I refuse to cry as
I don't want to be seen like the weak girl I was before
Seen as a crybaby and treat me as such
Tip toeing around me
Why cry over things and make you seem weak?
Picture
Sure some say you cry when you’re strong for too long
I’d rather not cry as it is humiliating
Crying about anything won’t make things better
You're seen as a crying clown

I refuse to cry
I must be strong, the world is cruel
So don’t show tears to show you’re scared or seen as pathetic
Why cry when nothing good will come?

People will just say you’re sensitive, a crybaby, and that you’re annoying
Do you want to add to that pain?
Or will you suck it up and become defiant
To show you’re willing to move on
Picture
Don't be stuck in that painful cycle
Go ahead be strong
Don't let the world know you’re weak
As I don't cry I glare at the person
Fury boils from inside in its place
I can't be embarrassed by what tears bring me
Tears don't change a thing
Sure it lets your emotions out and to express yourself

But I refuse to cry
Why wallow in pain, life would just move on?
So why complain? Why cry?
Be a warrior. Be strong
Face life challenges with a smile, not your tears from the past

You’re the one in charge
Not them, why cry?
When you can be strong, why cry?
Picture
I refuse to cry
I’m tired of being humiliated
Someone to be pitied
Instead I want to be strong
Some one not to be looked down on
Why pretend you're fine when you’re not and cry your heart out in silence?

Be brave
Be strong
Don’t cry
