Colors of The Wind

Aleya Payton, November 2025

The sun fades
And in the skies' glooms we shadow
Bye-bye to the dark shade
That we borrow from the golden blaze
And hello to the gray new haze
Hello to the dancing water from the clouds
Goodbye to all in the next season that sprouts
The green that waves from branches in the wind
Shine bright from the hues autumn time will lend
Goodbye to the fever that is encapsulating our skin
And hello to the crisp breeze in the air to spin
Goodbye to the sweet fragrance of pumpkin spice
And time for vanilla bean paradise
No more crisp, dry wind and rain
But sparkling white showers and frozen of burden of pain

Aleya Payton
